These oil paintings create a journal of the artist’s memory through the distortion of plants. Plants have always been an element that sticks out in Mya’s memory as she always gravitates towards natural elements in any setting. Maybe it’s the green colour of the leaves or the general grounding nature of the plants that attract her attention, but either way they always stick out the most in memories. Distorting these elements is a way of re-visiting moments and preserving them before they become forgotten.
